With more than 3.5 million installations since 1976, the Ravelco Anti-Theft Device is the only anti-theft device that has never been defeated. The Ravelco offers an unbeatable combination of sturdy construction, secure technology and ease of use.
The Ravelco Anti Theft Device is installed in an easily accessible place under or flush mounted in the dashboard. A removable 16 pin male plug (which when not in use connects to your key chain) makes all the electronic connections. A hidden armored steel cable protects the wires from the rear of the RAVELCO base on through to the engine compartment where all the connections are made and camouflaged. When the plug is removed from the RAVELCO, it is impossible to start the vehicle. There are more than 100,000 different combinations. NO MASTER PLUGS. An impossible obstacle for even the most persistent thief. No Bells or Whistles . . . Just Results!
Underneath the dash the wires behind the Ravelco base unit are protected with steel, so thieves can’t get access to them. Even if they did, all the wires are the same color, and there is no pattern to give away the pairs. Inside the engine compartment, all the wires are hidden inside the factory wiring, and behind engine components. Thieves want to get in your car and be gone within 5 minutes. A thief would have to unravel your car’s electrical system, and thieves just don’t have that kind of time.

EYE OPENER FOR THE PUBLIC!!! On September 25th 2001 in Mexico City, where an estimated 200 vehicles are stolen each day, the Ravelco Anti-Theft Device was put to the test. CESVI-MEXICO, a company owned by the seven major insurance companies in Mexico, tried to hot wire and steal a Nissan Sentra equipped with the Ravelco device. CESVI-MEXICO said they would approve the Ravelco if it passed the 8-Minute Test, by preventing professional thieves hired for the occasion from starting the vehicle within an 8-minute timeframe. At that time, no theft device or alarm ever took more than three minutes to bypass. But after cutting wires and trying for 35 minutes to bypass and disable the Ravelco, the company's hired thieves gave up. As a result, CESVI-MEXICO approved the Ravelco.
HISTORY OF RAVELCO RAVELCO has been in business since 1976. Over the years, we have seen and run across just about everything that had to do with vehicle security. When RAVELCO started, there was no such thing as an anti theft device. All that was available back then was a cheap alarm system that you activated by inserting a key in the fender of the vehicle. When a would be car thief opened the door the siren would blast until the vehicles battery died. Not only a nuisance but very inconvenient and ineffective. Needless to say much has changed since then. In the last decade we have seen more than 200 alarm and anti theft device companies come and go out of business. Why? Because everyone jumped on the band wagon selling and manufacturing what they thought was a better mouse trap. Most, if not all, were not time tested in the field properly and when problems arose (such as vehicles not starting, shutting off while driving, false alarms etc.) customers and car dealers got a bad taste in their mouths thinking that all aftermarket products were junk. These companies were not sound enough to ride out the problems, so they folded. We at RAVELCO understand what the customer wants and what they are willing to pay for it. Customers are not stupid! They know that no one pays attention to alarm systems anymore. So when a car dealer tries to sell them an alarm for more than $800, they will tell the dealer that they are not interested in any accessories (alarms or anti theft devices). Then the very next day, they will call us asking the name of the closest dealer to them where they can get a RAVELCO installed. When asked where they purchased their vehicle, they always give us the name of a car dealer who does not carry the RAVELCO. They go on to tell us that the sales person said that "the RAVELCO is just a kill switch" and they should put on a full-blown alarm system because the RAVELCO will not protect what is inside the vehicle. Well, neither will an alarm! Nothing in the world can stop a smash and grab thief! If a thief wants to get into a vehicle, all he has to do is break the side window and grab what he wants. Many car dealers threaten you by saying that if you install anything but the factory GM, Ford, Chrysler, etc., Alarm System it will cause the manufacturer to void your warranty. This is not true! This is against the law. A federal law called the "Magnulson - Moss Act" protects you against such an action. We only hear these type of problems from the smaller car dealers where every two to three months they change sales people. Among our many customers, are the ten largest (volume) auto dealers in the country. Every car dealer who carries the RAVELCO tells us that the RAVELCO out sells the factory alarm systems nearly 3 to 1. These are experienced sales people who have been at the same car dealers for many years. Needless to say, they know the business and what is going on.
